- The Network of Information (NetInf) architecture was developed as part of the EU FP7 project SAIL to support data dissemination based on the Publish/Subscribe model. The significance of this paper lies in being the first to formally assess the security of the Publish/Subscribe model. The analysis shows that the model is vulnerable to masquerading and content poisoning attacks through invalid data registration. The paper then introduces and formally verifies new security protocols to address these vulnerabilities. The outcome of this research was a foundation for two PhD studies in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
