- Additional information
- Optimization of the ignition system has always posed challenges in commercial applications. The study was undertaken as a result of scientific visit of Dr K Volkov (Kingston University) to the Laboratory of gas Dynamics at the ITMO University (St Petersburg, Russia). The visit was supported by the Santander Bank. The results obtained were applied to design new ignition systems. The streamer ignition was also applied to pulsed detonation engines currently being evaluated for high-speed propulsion systems.
