- This paper develops an innovative approach to teaching and thinking about the ethical issues invoked by information technologies. It is the first paper to propose a multi-dimensional, four-part framework to analyse such issues, from a social, ethical, professional, and legal perspective. The originality of this paper lies in the inter-disciplinary nature of this framework, drawing on theories and concepts from computer science, social sciences and the humanities. The paper is significant because the proposed methodology can be applied to any case study or domain, not only by teachers of computer ethics, but also computing professionals.
