- Double-weighted statement
- This work combines original theoretical, experimental and corpus research, approaches from which a given linguist normally chooses just one, given the extraordinary effort needed to make them cogently inform one another. Moreover, it represents a novel synthesis of ideas from semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics and the psychology of number. It contributes a new theoretical framework within which to study the linguistic meaning of number, and develops suitable empirical methods with which to do so.
