- Double-weighted statement
- Commissioned by the Musée de l’Orangerie and co-published by Gallimard and the Orangerie, this edition of 120 previously unpublished letters between a poet and an art dealer (1911-1918) involved extensive research in the Musée Picasso archive, at the Bibliothèque Kandinsky (research library of the Musée national d’Art Moderne), and in press and periodicals at the Bibliothèque Nationale. Documentation presented in this book demonstrates how the status and value now internationally attributed to African and Oceanian art, including at the Louvre and the Musée du Quai Branly, stem directly from Apollinaire’s publications and his discussions and collaboration with Paul Guillaume.
