- This book was based on two years of primary and secondary research on five key periods of cultural significance for the Disney Studios and their fairy tale narratives, from 1937 to 2017. Each era was placed in the context of key political, social and cultural events that played an intrinsic role in shifting American attitudes towards their nation, and analysing the industrial structures of Hollywood and Disney Studios, including how personnel changes and rising competition from rival studios impacted the content and form of Disney’s productions.
