- The project funded by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and BU after two successful EPSRC CASE studentships (Hadfield). The significance of the Bournemouth relationship with the RNLI was highlighted in an independent IMechE journal article “A celebration of academic and industry collaboration: The Royal National Lifeboat Institution and Maritime Engineering innovation” (https://doi.org/10.1177/1475090220937901). The relationship between Professor Hadfield and Oviedo University (Spain) has been established for over twenty years. Contribution resulted from a secondment to Bournemouth University in 2013 by Dr Jose Luis Viesca funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport under the Jose Castillejo scheme.
