- This novel sensor technology has led to further grant NE/T010584/1 (£711,792), in collaboration with US universities with matching funds. 10 units of demonstration devices have been produced and trialled by external partners (Centre for Ecology & Hydrology-River, Environmental Agency-River, Chinese Academy of Science-Lake, University of Plymouth-Southern Ocean, Wiesbaden Sewage water plant-Wastewater treatment). It has led to several invited talks (e.g. https://www.swig.org.uk/developments-in-nutrient-monitoring-workshop/), won award in business show (Aquatech Amsterdam), and been reported by national media (https://news.cgtn.com/news/3467544e7a494464776c6d636a4e6e62684a4856/share_p.html). This nitrite and nitrate sensor has been recently CE-marked and launched to the market by a spinout company (https://southwestsensor.co.uk/product/no2-and-no3-sensor/#tab-description).
