- This book is the result of substantial intellectual dedication and rigorous research over a period of 5 years. The research involves empirical and theoretical work of significant scope and scale. It comprehensively unpacks the decades-long theoretical literature on the security dilemma. Through in-depth reflection and critical engagement with the theoretical literature, the book develops the concept substantially and applies it to the under-explored case of Tibet. The book draws extensively upon Tibet scholarship from multiple disciplines and contrast those with conventional Western approaches. Empirically, the author examines a large breadth of primary data, collected in loco in multiple languages.
