- This volume is the product of a sustained research effort over nearly 10 years at 15 archive locations in the US, UK, and the Netherlands. It includes primary research from 75+ manuscript collections, some of which have never been catalogued. The book is the first of its kind, detailing the evolving legacy of an American president over the course of a century. It is a multidisciplinary work that won the 2018 Theodore Roosevelt Book Prize, awarded annually for the best book written about Roosevelt. Funding to support the research was provided by a 12-month AHRC grant.
