- This monograph examines the epistemological, societal and aesthetic features of bodily and brain scans in the transition from the biomedical laboratory to the arts. By relying on a variety of critical approaches and creative practices in film and visual culture, this book develops new methods and contexts relevant to the processes by which biomedical images are resituated in gallery spaces and cinematic environments. The book not only intervenes in the art-science debate, but it also envisages a future for film studies that can be more receptive to a wider array of visual and plastic art forms.
