- This paper draws on official Welsh Government data on appointment time availability in GP surgeries using innovative GIS approaches to examine spatial patterns of provision. It draws on findings presented at the International Geographical Union Applied Geography Commission conference in L’Aquila, Italy (2019) and describes the use of accessibility tools to plan provision of primary care services for those wanting to access health services at more convenient times during their working day. This inter-disciplinary research will be taken forward in the successful ESRC funded Large Centres WISERD Civil Society bid to examine patterns of provision at more localised spatial scales.
