- Reports on hardware demonstration of a new DC/DC converter topology at the University Laboratory. The converter has been developed and patented by the University and it is intended for DC power transmission systems. Since power level of the demonstrator is quite high (30kW) and high-voltage semiconductors are employed, the successful results give high confidence in the feasibility for practical applications. The proposed solution have been employed in follow up studies at University of Manitoba (Xu), Manitoba HVDC Research Centre (Muthumuni), and National University of Ireland (Hurley), among other places.
