- This is a 240-page book that results from seven years of research and makes a contribution to several interrelated fields, including comparative literature, critical theory, and queer theory. The book’s complex argument traverses several national contexts as well as several genres and media (poetry, fiction, and film), and its completion was supported by fellowships from both the Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women at Brown University and the International Consortium of Critical Theory Programs.
