- The Elevation Linear Fresnel Reflector (LFR) was a novel technology developed as part of an EPSRC-DST UK-India Science Bridge project (EP/G039992/1), which increased annual exergy by 23% in comparison to a conventional LFR design. Two LFR technologies were subsequently built and tested in India, including one at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and another at Industrial Boilers Ltd, Vapi (India’s largest boiler manufacturer). The new concept in our paper was adopted by researchers at the Plataforma Solar de Almería (Europe’s leading solar energy research test centre) to arrive at an improved LFR design for solar process heat.
