- Additional information
- This output is derived from research undertaken on behalf of, and funded by, the Care and Social Services Inspectorate of the Welsh Government to support their Childcare Offer. Applying advanced spatial analysis techniques using bespoke software provided an evidential base for understanding current supply-and-demand relating to childcare provision across Wales at a level of spatial detail hitherto unattainable. Key findings were disseminated to civil servants and politicians via an official Governmental report (https://gov.wales/childcare-capacity-wales-mapping-childcare-supply-against-potential-demand-0) and the results fed directly into Ministerial-level decisions concerning the selection of pilot areas used to roll out this “flagship” policy of the 2016 Programme for Government.
