- Additional information
- This output comprises the editing work for the volume, a co-written introduction and the sole authored chapter: ‘Sculpture, Poetics, Marble Books: Casting Michael Field’.
This book is the culmination of five years’ work, which began with a conference, co-organised by Vadillo, Sarah Parker (Stirling) and Marion Thain (Sheffield): The Michael Field Centenary Conference: New Directions in Fin-de-Siècle Studies (2014). They planned sessions around specific topics and panels with invited speakers. To coincide with the conference, Vadillo curated a book exhibition on Michael Field at the Senate House Library. Parker and Vadillo shaped the volume by identifying research questions and topics, and securing contributions from an international group of leading experts.
Vadillo and Parker worked closely with authors, the Ohio editor and peer reviewers. They consulted with other scholars (for example, in medical humanities), for advice on specific questions or problems. They shared the chapters among our contributors to cross-pollinate ideas, concepts and methodologies. They prepared the book for publication: from bibliography and footnotes to illustrations.
