- The monograph was the result of over eight years of research. In addition to coverage of issues in Biblical Studies, it engages with texts from the fields of English, Scottish and American literature, including fiction, poetry and drama, drawn from a period of over 500 years. Early drafts of several chapters were presented at British New Testament Conferences and then revised. Material for a further chapter went through a process of peer-review before publication in The Journal of the Bible and its Reception. The project was completed and submitted to OUP during a seven-month period of research leave.
