- Combining multiple smart grid technologies to improve system reliability has not been widely reported and this is the first case of the combination of Energy Storage and Real-Time Thermal Ratings. The work was an outcome of the Ofgem funded Smarter Network Storage project electricity and co-authored by UK Power Networks. Presented at industry event held at IET. The DNO considered trialing this technique but operations changed to a third party due to regulatory and market conditions (UKPN contact Ian Cooper: ian.cooper@ukpowernetworks.co.uk)
