- The work involved collaboration with the University of Bologna (Prof. Grandi) and led to an Associate Editorship of the IET Power Electronics journal. An equation for dc-link capacitor design is developed, showing that capacitor capacitance can be reduced when going for higher numbers of phases. This is significant since it means that smaller capacitors can be used than is the case today. Industry interest has led to an industrial contract with LionSmart GmbH, Germany for work on the “Demonstration of BIPED for aerospace applications – LIBAT project” (contact: Tobias Mayer, Director, tobias.mayer@lionsmart.com).
