- Double-weighted statement
- This book should be double-weighted to acknowledge the breadth of the perspective taken, its originality and that it is based on over four years of in-depth complex field research in a particular landscape. It has far greater scope than previous landscape studies in the discipline, examining the manner in which a wide variety of individuals and groups relate to, conceptualize and contest the same landscape. The eight major chapters in it might have been published as a series of independent articles. To maintain the breadth of perspective that a landscape study of this scope demands required a single publication.
