- The book is the culmination of ten years of investigative research examining the legacy of colonialism in transitional justice, in Zimbabwe and beyond. It contributes to a deeper understanding of transitional justice by examining the complexities of transition in postcolonial societies. The analysis is underpinned by a critical and comprehensive examination of relevant legal developments from the colonial era to 2018 and includes material from other postcolonial polities as well as Zimbabwe. The analysis is framed by post-colonial legal theory and is guided by key non-legal expositions of post-colonialism rooted in history, philosophy and post-colonial studies.
