- This 254-page monograph results from extensive fieldwork in the United Arab Emirates providing an in-depth examination of the processes of franchising heritage and its cultural affects in the under-studied Arabian Peninsula. This study revealed the limitations of traditional approaches to heritage and prompted a reassessment of a range of issues that are central to both critical heritage studies and professional practice. Drawing on cultural heritage and museum developments over a sustained period of time, this book took 9 years to research and write.
