- This year-long rich data study of iPad use in ordinary classrooms was published in a highly competitive venue. It looked at the use of iPads from a novel technology centred view where the role of the iPad in the classroom was described in relation to the child. The work has since influenced work on privacy and, following publication, the BBC commissioned a (£30K) study on the use of IPads in homes which the UCLan author delivered. Following this work, Read was invited to talk about the findings in a screening of Women’s hour, concerning screen time use, in 2018.
