- This 140000 word book took over 8 years (2011-2019) of sustained research effort. The project collected and analysed a large body of material from four regions of the world with distinctly different legal and policing systems. Depending on the region, sources had to be explored and interviews conducted with the help of translators. The book combines legal doctrinal with qualitative empirical research. Nearly 100 interviews conducted over 8 years were compared to trace socio-legal developments of police cooperation in four different regions. Interweaving these multiple strands produced important findings and overall argumentation on theoretical and practical levels. ?
