- Double-weighted statement
- The output is the product of a research process of more than four years, from the development of an innovative mixed-method research design, through two years of fieldwork, to the assembly and analysis of quantitative data and the development of a series of narrative case studies. As director of the research project Dr Carver conducted four field research trips, as well as eight more field visits to supervise local researchers and the analysis of data. Quantitative data was compiled by the coding of primary data, both quantitative and qualitative, gathered from 16 countries and coded year-by-year over a 30-year period.
