- Significantly influenced ICT for Development (ICT4D) policymaking and implementation in Nigeria as a whole and the northern state of Jigawa in particular. For the first time in state history, the state is basing its ICT4D policy planning, implementation, and evaluation for education and training towards poverty reduction and economic empowerment on empirical and documented evidence. It also influenced thinking on the role of information systems education to enhance development (Dasuki et al., The Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries, 83(1), 2017) and inspired a similar approach in Bangladesh (Hoque, Technology in Society, 61, 101254, 2020).
