- Adaptive optics are in used in astronomical telescope to mitigate optical aberrations in the atmosphere and finds spin-off industrial applications elsewhere. Shaping of the projected laser beam for cutting tools is understood to be a large market; driving down the cost of manufacture and also improve the quality of adaptive optics assemblies in niche areas including microscopy.
