- Girls Like This, Boys Like That is a long-form exploration of how gender reproduction occurs during youth through a focus on taste cultures. It is based on the analysis of rich empirical data collected over two years of ethnographic observation, focus groups, and creative online identity pages from over 100 British youth. This offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the complex role popular culture plays in young people’s experiences, presentations and receptions of gender.
