- Health shocks (HS) defined by WHO, are unpredictable illnesses that diminish health-status critically linked to poverty. This paper presented a novel HS prediction model using a fuzzy linguistic summarisation approach. It extracts explainable classification rules from data quantifying health, socioeconomic, environmental conditions and accessibility to healthcare in rural/remotely accessible regions of Pakistan. The model was evaluated using data collected from rural-communities and led to forming the Foresight Lab(foresightlab.pk); a collaboration of AGAHI-(NGO) and the Interactive Group-of-Companies to engage policymakers and academia on socioeconomic issues affecting Pakistan and an Eisenhower Fellowship for the 1st-author. The same methodology underpinned further studies e.g.https://epod.cid.harvard.edu/sites/default/files/2019-10/Doctor%20-%20Data%20Driven%20Computational%20Models_combined.pdf and https://epod.cid.harvard.edu/sites/default/files/inline-files/predicting_impact_of_labor_market_policies.pdf.
