- Double-weighted statement
- This book warrants double-weighting on numerous grounds. It is entirely original, being the first extended work to examine in detail the development of black British intellectual movements in education, in different contexts and from a variety of sociological and historical perspectives. It necessitated the collection of a large, multi-layered body of around 300 documents. These included academic publications, educational materials, campaigning materials, minutes of meetings, interview transcripts. Documents included hard to access grey literature and rare material from black community archives.
