- An output from a UK-India collaborative project (funded by UKIERI) focusing on synthesized luminescent Eu2O3 doped ZnO films using radio frequency magnetron sputtering. The output led to two industrial projects funded by QAS Ltd/Scottish Funding Council (Mr George Stevenson, george@qasinnovation.com) and a new collaboration with University of Dundee in EPSRC’s IGTN (113994). The study has paved the way for partnership with Universities of Heriot Watt, Glasgow, Edinburgh in gaining £3.7M ERDF funding to develop the Medical Device Manufacturing Centre (MDMC - https://mdmc.hw.ac.uk).
