- The paper presents the concept, architecture and reference implementation of a multi-cloud application-level cloud orchestration framework that supports auto-scaling and optimised execution of cloud-enabled applications. The solution goes significantly beyond the state of the art regarding its cloud agnostic nature and the flexibility of the scaling logic that can be supported. Based on the concept described in the paper, MiCADO is now an open source product also offered by German Company CloudSME (https://micado-scale.eu/, contact: Andreas Oclenburg CEO andreas@cloudsme.eu). The company expected 387,030 Euros increase in its turnover by the end of 2020 as a direct result of commercialising MiCADO.
