- This work established foundations for a completely new way of registering policy conform passwords without sending them to servers. Our zero-knowledge password policy checks (ZKPPC) influenced many future results, i.e., helped in solving an open problem with password registration in scenarios with distributed servers (Best Paper Award at ISC’18), inspired constructions of new verifier-based password authentication protocols (ACM ASIACCS’17) and designs using quantum-safe cryptography (ISC’17). ZKPPC was recommended by the designers of OPAQUE (EUROCRYPT’18) which is a current IETF Internet Draft.
