- Double-weighted statement
- Making an original contribution to the field of landscape archaeology, this book is double-weighted to reflect the range of methods on which it draws. These include experiential approaches to pebbles and monuments in landscapes, archival, anthropological and historical research, as well as archaeological excavation and survey over a period of five years. Double weighting the book also reflects its breadth in considering both the prehistoric landscape from the Mesolithic to the Iron Age, and the same landscape from the eighteenth into the twenty-first century, including the documentation of all 829 surviving historic pebble structures.
