- Veiled Threats explores how ‘the Muslim woman’ is constructed in the UK in the context of discourses around counter terrorism. The research involved textual analysis of parliamentary debates, political speeches and policy documents, 25 semi structured interviews with policy actors involved at different levels of the policy chain as well as participant observation. The final study is 75,000 words in length and provides analysis of the engagement of Muslim women in UK counterterrorism policies from a variety of different angles (i.e. from those working in policy delivery as well as from those who are the objects of policy).
