- This paper builds on and extends our novel landmark based plan-recognition heuristics from previous work (described in a highly cited AAAI conference paper) by integrating planning based heuristics to create the first plan recognition system to use a landmark/planning based approach for goal recognition. We describing the formalism and the theory behind it, and carry out a very detailed empirical evaluation of the technique, demonstrating effectiveness greatly beyond the previous state of the art. The approach is widely applicable in domains ranging from robotics to open systems.
