- There is growing interest in predictive processing. Google scholar reports more than 1000 related publications in 2020 alone. Operational specificity remains a problem, however. The computational details of the proposal were not defined in the seminal publications, and different interpretations have been mixed. In this paper, a rigorous, information-theoretic specification was set out for the first time. It is set to form the basis for developing working models in a project on `AI Systems for Human Flourishing' (Profs Clark, Harris, Garfinkel and others), for which £1M funding is currently sought from the Canada-UK Artificial Intelligence Initiative.
