- This interdisciplinary paper develops new software for real-time synaptome visualisation using customisable region-based real-time statistics and associated visualisations, based on massive source datasets. The findings showcase the evolution of the synaptome from birth to old age, in all brain regions, in terms of synapse density, composition, architecture and organisation. An earlier version of the work was instrumental in securing a £1.3M grant from the Wellcome Trust (2019) to extend the work to the whole brain.
