- Application of digital technologies, particularly XR (Extended Reality) technologies, is paramount for enhancing training delivery thereby reducing fatalities on-site. The paper presents an innovative system (Mixed Reality System) for construction training which was piloted across further education colleges to support the delivery of construction trade training. The research won the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) Premier award in the Digital Innovation category. The paper is an exemplar of applied multi-disciplinary research collaboration.
