- Double-weighted statement
- This book draws on over four-years of ethnographic research to provide new and critical insights into the complexities of the under-researched area of cosplay culture. This includes formal interviews with 36 cosplayers, and critical observations at numerous conventions and gatherings, engaging in numerous informal interviews, photographing cosplayers and locations, and following this community online. A key feature of the book is its employment of art practice as both a research tool and method for representing data, which, during the course of this project involved the production of over 100 watercolour paintings, as well as numerous sculptures and videos.
