- This is a major, 800-page critical edition of poetry, which presents Stevie Smith’s collected poems alongside her own selection of drawings for the first time. Its publication was the subject of a major international conference (Oxford, 2015), and has since become the standard reference in the field (chosen reference text for all 18 academic publications on Stevie Smith since 2016). Drawing on over 10 years of scholarship and research, including 4 months study in an archive with MS drafts at the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, it includes a 3,000-word critical edition, sixty pages of scholarly notes, and corrected texts for 500 poems, including over 80 poems never published in book form. It has been widely reviewed in the UK and US in academic journals, trade publications, and prominent national newspapers, including the New York Times, Booklist, and Poetry Review. It has been subsequently published in a paperback edition, and published in a new edition in the United States as All The Poems. Its distinctive approach to textual editing has already been the subject of a doctoral project at the University of Boston.
