- This 376-page book is the product of over 6 years'’ work bringing together palaeographical and liturgical information that is widely dispersed and has received little scholarly attention due to the complexity of its musical notation and sources. The book includes 135 figures and 75 tables that aid the holistic analysis of this challenging musical repertoire. The book’s appendices (themselves over 186 pages) constitute a highly detailed set of cross-references for textual and musical identifiers for plainchant, resulting in an exhaustive catalogue which includes textual and musical transcriptions alongside hundreds of images from chant manuscripts.
