- This substantial piece of research (110,000 words) is focused upon analysis of over 5,000 pages of Vivekananda's writings that have not previously been analysed critically regarding the relationship between Hindu and non-Hindu worldviews. The work is a historical and philosophical enquiry into the development of modern Hinduism, which acts as a corrective to contemporary (mis)appropriation by Hindu Nationalists. The work offers a deep analysis of Vivekananda's philosophical framework of Hindu Yoga, whilst also reappraising his performance at Chicago, which is missing from other scholarship. The work is a vital contribution to a subject of study (Vivekananda) dominated by apologetic writing.
