- This paper is a key publication from the project on microwave curing of concrete repair funded by the EU 7th Framework Programme for SMEs, Grant 605664, which enabled the design and development of a microwave curing prototype system. The project team comprised SMEs, SHU and Fraunhofer as coordinator. It led to further R&D with Process Technology Ltd in Sheffield to develop a microwave technology system for rapid pot-hole repair in roads. It also contributed to the Newton - Bhabha project (EPSRC grant EP/P026206/1) for valorising rice husk and bran by applying microwave heating to achieve optimum drying conditions.
