- Double-weighted statement
- My monograph Hollywood Soundscapes: Film Sound Style, Craft and Production in the Classical Era warrants double weighting for several reasons. The book's extensive primary research into film production from the 'bottom up' demanded meticulous and painstaking data collection over a period of time, from multiple archives and collections in the USA, some of which have very limited access. The book offers multi-level industry analysis and hence synthesises a large body of material and offers an investigation of film sound, comparative insights of sound style in contrasting films, distinct studio working methods and specific technological and industrial contexts.
