- As co-editor of London Art Worlds: Mobile, Contingent and Ephemeral Networks, 1960–1980 (Penn State University Press, 2018), the attributed individual contributed one single-authored chapter entitled ‘Taking the Trouble to Sound It: Mediating Conflict in the Work of Rita Donagh’ (9,000 words) and co-wrote the Introduction with the two co-editors, as well as editing all of the other eight chapters. The editors compiled a significant bibliography for use for future scholars in this under-researched area, and undertook extensive image research in order to represent often highly-ephemeral practices visually, which is vital for further historicization of this period.
The book developed directly from an international conference held at the University of York in November 2013, co-organised by the co-editors. One of the co-editors and the attributed individual applied for and were successful in obtaining funding for the conference from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art, and from the Centre for Modern Studies at the University of York. The other co-editor and the attributed individual presented a paper at the conference, which developed into the introduction. The conference and the publication were jointly conceived, and the three editors played equal roles in identifying and commissioning speakers, and in the selection and expansion of contributions in developing the book manuscript. A further research event was co-organised to launch the publication at the Courtauld Institute of Art’s Research Forum in 2018.
