- This research developed a novel nonlinear model of a reinforced concrete precast structure, using a real case study damaged during the earthquakes in 2012. The novel aspect is the availability of a real structure with actual reported damage. The presented modelling approach was able to simulate the real damage after two consecutive earthquakes. Such uniqueness got the interest of the working group in FIB sub-commission, TG6.6 - Retrofitting of precast seismic structures, which is now using the approach included in the study for the safety assessment of buildings in seismic prone areas.
