- This long-form output is the result of five years of sustained research effort. As a highly interdisciplinary work drawing on and synthesizing several diverse bodies of existing scholarship, its conceptualization and completion required extensive research time. The resulting work is the product of a multi-layered critical investigation fusing formalism with social engagement and brings several new theoretical perspectives to bear on the central genre in contemporary literary comics.
