- This is the first book on the Greek core executive and there was no previous research on its case studies (five Prime-ministerial tenures). The research underpinning the book lasted 7 years. The range of primary material collected was exceptionally wide, involving (i) over sixty semi-structured elite interviews, primarily with senior ministers in the Greek core executive, and (ii) lengthy interviews and written communication with all surviving Greek Prime Ministers since 1974. The triangulation of the evidence compiled through personal interviews with legal documentation (comprising over 500 pieces of legislation) and media reports (spanning 40 years) was also exceptionally challenging.
